Moree’s very own New Bo Wa Chinese Restaurant was named a finalist in the Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS National Awards for Excellence held in Brisbane this week.
Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton said that the awards showcase excellent restaurants and caterers from around Australia and demonstrate that we have world-class food and wine experiences right at our doorsteps.
“All of the winners and finalists represent a key part of Australia’s high quality tourism offering and I congratulate them for their commitment to providing a culinary experience that attracts people from around Australia and the world,” Mr Coulton said.
“I am particularly proud that North West New South Wales was represented by New Bo Wa Chinese Restaurant which was a finalist in the Chinese Restaurant category.”
Mr Coulton said that the hospitality sector makes an important contribution in Australia.
“Visitors to Australia consumed $113 billion worth of goods and services in Australia during 2013-14,” Mr Coulton said.
“Australia’s tourism industry employs almost 1 million people with the café, restaurant and takeaway food service sector accounting for 67% of this employment, making it the largest single contributor to employment in Australia.”
