The Coalition Government’s Mobile Service Centre, Golden Wattle, will return to communities in the Parkes electorate throughout November.
Mobile Service Centres (MSCs) provide Australians living in remote and regional communities with face-to-face access to customer service agents who can help them apply for benefits or resolve claim issues.
Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said staff on board Golden Wattle can assist customers and their families with a range of services.
“A Farm Household Case Officer will be available to assist with Farm Household Allowance (FHA) claims, and a departmental social worker will be on hand for additional support,” Mr Coulton said.
“Locals can also access assistance with other Centrelink claims, Medicare registrations and online services.
“This is a great opportunity for rural communities to meet face-to-face with specialist staff – there are no appointments necessary,” Mr Coulton said.
In a decade of operation, MSCs have helped more than 140,000 people and travelled more than 800,000 kilometres.
Minister for Human Services Michael Keenan said MSCs provide critical information, assistance and support to rural and regional Australians.
“The Mobile Service Centres reinforce the Liberal Nationals’ Government’s commitment to deliver the best service possible to all Australians, regardless of where they live,” Minister Keenan said.
Information about Department of Veterans’ Affairs programs and support services for veterans and their families will also be available.
