Lake Cargelligo residents will have personalised access to government services on Thursday 18 October, with the Coalition Government’s popular Mobile Service Centre ‘Golden Wattle’ coming to town.
Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, said residents can come along to the centre for Medicare and Centrelink support, as well as help with Farm Household Allowance (FHA) claims.
“Mobile Service Centres provide critical support to those in rural and regional areas, and I’m pleased Lake Cargelligo residents can enjoy the convenience of this personalised service,” Mr Coulton said.
“Help will be on offer with services like lodging Centrelink claims, Medicare registrations, access to online services and importantly, assistance with the FHA.
“Farmers and their families in financial hardship will be able to get specialist support from a Farm Household Case Officer. They can get help with their FHA claims, and there will also be a departmental social worker on board to offer additional support.
“This centre will provide face-to-face access to customer service agents who can also provide help applying for benefits or resolving claim issues.”
Information about Department of Veterans’ Affairs programs and support services for veterans and their families will also be available.
“You don’t need an appointment, and it’s a free service – so if any member of our community has a question or needs any assistance, make sure you come down and visit the centre.”
