Inland Rail continues to deliver benefits for the Narrabri community, with the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) donating $4,000 to Summit Community Services in the sixth round of their Community Sponsorships and Donations program.
The funds will be used by the organisation to upgrade IT systems for housing and disability support.
Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton welcomed the donation and is encouraging groups in the electorate to apply for future rounds.
“It’s pleasing to see Inland Rail giving back to local communities in the electorate and supporting organisations that are part of the social fabric in our region,” Mr Coulton said.
“Inland Rail offers significant opportunities for our regions – boosting jobs and providing avenues for economic prosperity in the short and long term.
“I encourage local community groups and schools to throw their hat in the ring and get involved in this program now that the next round is open for applications.”
A total of $380,000 has been donated to more than 120 community groups across the 1,700km Inland Rail alignment.
The Inland Rail Sponsorship and Donations program is inviting applications from community-led projects, events and activities for the eighth round which closes 31 January 2021.
Initiatives must contribute to community wellbeing, prosperity and/or sustainability, as well as supporting the local culture, safety, environment, recreation and entrepreneurs. Visit inlandrail.com.au/sponsorships to find out more and apply.
