Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said he is thrilled that a new export hub will be established in Dubbo under the Coalition Government’s Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Export Hubs Initiative.
The funding of $234,887 has been committed to Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana, which is one of 10 successful recipients under the initiative. The export hub will focus on the support of mining equipment and technology industries.
“The establishment of an export hub in Dubbo will be extremely important for the economic development of this region,” Mr Coulton said.
“The export hub will service the Orana and Central West regions, incorporating the major mining regions of Cobar, Dubbo and Condobolin in my electorate, as well as Mudgee, Orange, Peak Hill and Parkes further afield.
“This investment from the Liberal and National Government will help identify commercial opportunities and encourage business growth, and will ultimately increase local and regional job opportunities.
“As Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, I am looking forward to the opportunities this will provide for our region, and I congratulate RDA Orana on their success.”
Export hubs are business networks that help small and medium businesses harness opportunities in international market places, particularly where the Coalition Government has signed free trade agreements – including China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia.
