Successful projects in Bourke, Dunedoo, Moree and Nyngan will boost local jobs and improve community infrastructure for each of these towns and surrounding areas.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Warren Truss and Assistant Minister, Michael McCormack today announced $293 million for projects that were successful under Round Two of the programme, with 111 projects across Australia selected for funding.

 

Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton said submissions to Round Two were very competitive with a very high standard of applications.

 

“This shows that applicants have thought seriously about how well their project addresses the objectives of the Fund,” Mr Coulton said.

Mr Coulton said he is very pleased that the Coalition Government is supporting investment in a diverse range of infrastructure nationwide, including transport infrastructure and healthcare facilities.

 

“Projects submitted under the NSRF are identified as priority infrastructure projects by local communities and the fund particularly encourages communities to form partnerships between not-for-profit organisations, local, state and territory governments as well as the private sector,” he said.
