The transition to the Australian Government’s new jobactive employment service took another step forward today with job seekers starting to receive advice about which local firm will help them to look for work in the future.
Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, said that the Government’s new $6.8 billion jobactive employment service, which starts on 1 July 2015, will be a fresh mix of new and existing firms delivering employment services.
“From today, job seekers in the current employment service known as Job Services Australia – will begin to receive letters letting them know the name of their new jobactive employment service provider,” Mr Coulton said.
“For some job seekers, they will continue to receive help from their current employment service provider and for others it will be a case of meeting with a new provider.
“It is very important that all job seekers keep an eye out for these letters so they can connect with their new jobactive employment service and receive help to find and keep a job.
“Job seekers should also be alert for phone calls, messages, emails and letters from their new jobactive provider organising appointments from 1 July 2015 and beyond.
“In coming months, job seekers will start to notice real changes on the ground as we move towards the start of jobactive.
“I encourage all job seekers to take advantage of the support on offer to ensure they remain connected with employment services and job opportunities in their local area,” Mr Coulton said.
