The Coalition Government’s $5 million Environment Small Grants programme will assist local Landcare, environment and other natural resource management groups with funding to help restore their local environment in the Electorate of Parkes.
The Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton said the Government is providing the grants under Phase 2 of its National Landcare Program, to help communities deliver natural resource management activities that improve the quality of their local environment.
He said local groups and individuals in the Electorate of Parkes can now apply for grants to deliver activities such as invasive pest and weed management, revegetation, erosion control, community engagement, and Indigenous land management planning.
“Our region is blessed to have such striking land types and variety of panoramas and it is important to protect and preserve them for future generations,” Mr Coulton said.
“I strongly encourage all interested groups and organisations to put their hands up for one of these grants to help keep the Electorate beautiful.”
Applicants have until 19 March 2018 to apply for funding of between $5,000 and $50,000 for each project. The small grants will be allocated through a one-off grant in the 2017-18 financial year.
