Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton recently presented the Come By Chance School of Arts Hall committee with a grant worth $1,157 in the lead up to the commemoration of ANZAC Centenary in 2015.
The grant will be used to conduct a commemorative event on ANZAC Day in 2015.
Mr Coulton congratulated Councillor Jane Keir, who represented the School of Arts Hall committee, on their successful application.
“The Centenary of ANZAC Centenary Local Grants Program was designed to enable local communities to commemorate this special milestone,” said Mr Coulton.
“The recognition of the sacrifices that were made by people in this district is very important.
Under the Centenary of ANZAC program each federal electorate was allocated funding of up to $125,000 to support projects to commemorate the First World War.
“Over the last 12 months I have seen the development of some very worthy projects. I know that the Come By Chance community will hold a very special service on ANZAC day next year.”
