Yuluwirri Kids – Coonabarabran Preschool and Long Day Care has received a $40,000 boost under the Federal Government’s Community Child Care Fund, announced today by Member for Parkes Mark Coulton.
Mr Coulton said the funding will help improve child care participation in the area.
“This excellent funding will help Yuluwirri Kids to continue to support the local community in Coonabarabran and surrounds, including the many families who depend on local child care,” Mr Coulton said.
“Funding through the Community Child Care Fund assists child care providers to improve their sustainability, increase local child care participation and create more child care places in areas of high need.
“Centres like Yuluwirri Kids are incredibly important for the people of my electorate, especially in rural and remote locations, where it may be difficult to access child care services.
“The Coalition Government’s reforms to child care are driving down out-of-pocket costs for parents. Since the Coalition Government’s Child Care Subsidy was introduced on 2 July 2018, out-of-pocket child care costs for families have reduced by 10.4 per cent.”
More than 700 child care services around Australia have shared in around $110 million of funding in the first round of the Community Child Care Fund.
