Member for Parkes Mark Coulton has commended Ivanhoe Central School on successfully receiving a $1,364 grant, under the Australian Government’s Saluting Their Service commemorations program.
Mr Coulton said Ivanhoe Central School will use the funding to install a flagpole in the school’s memorial garden to be used in ANZAC and Remembrance Day ceremonies.
“I would like to congratulate Ivanhoe Central School for their dedication to commemorating Australia’s wartime history and recognising our local service men and women,” Mr Coulton said.
“This project will be another permanent tribute to local community members who have served and continue to serve our country.”
Ivanhoe Central School received one of 84 Saluting Their Service grants that were recently announced. Another grant in the Parkes electorate was committed to The Baradine Rusty Club.
“This is a meaningful project for the local community to commemorate Australia’s role in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations and reflect on our gratitude for those who served.”
The Community Commemorative Grants category of the Saluting Their Service program provides up to $4,000 for each project and applications can now be made through the Community Grants Hub – www.communitygrants.gov.au.
