Students and staff at St Patrick’s School in Brewarrina will benefit from a new four bedroom principal house and three two bedroom houses thanks to $756,000 in funding from the Federal Government.
Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, officially opened the new facility today on behalf of the Minister for Education Dan Tehan.
“It was great to visit St Patrick’s School and see the new facilities firsthand and the impact they will have on students’ learning potential,” Mr Coulton said.
Mr Coulton said the whole school community would benefit from the new facilities.
“This principal and teacher accommodation represents part of the Coalition’s commitment to provide teachers with the infrastructure and first class facilities they need to help students learn and equip them to meet future challenges.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities – that’s why the Federal Government is proud of the Capital Grants Program, which has benefited thousands of schools across the nation.”
The Government has committed $660 million until 2021, which provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure.
