Residents of Tibooburra and the Central Darling Shire will have easy access to Australian Government services, with Mobile Service Centre Desert Rose hitting the road soon.
Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said the Desert Rose truck will be visiting Tibooburra, White Cliffs, Wilcannia and Menindee from 26 September.
“I’m excited to see this service return to the Far West, particularly with such a strong track record in helping people in rural and regional communities, including the Parkes electorate,” Mr Coulton said.
“There will be friendly, specialist staff available, who are ready to assist with Centrelink claims, Medicare registrations, online services and more.
“I encourage families to jump on board Desert Rose while it’s in town and find out what support is available to them.”
Mr Coulton said a departmental social worker and a Farm Household Case Officer will be available to help locals. Staff will also be able to assist with information about Department of Veterans’ Affairs programs.
“You don’t need an appointment, and it’s free – so anyone who needs tailored support should visit the team aboard Desert Rose over the coming weeks,” Mr Coulton said.
