Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, has congratulated the Royal Far West on providing services to children from the regions for the last 90 years.
In a speech to the Australian Parliament this week Mr Coulton commended the work undertaken by Royal Far West in health, education and recreational services for kids from the country.
“Royal Far West makes an outstanding contribution and its operations have benefited children from across regional Australia,” said Mr Coulton.
“Reverend Stanley Drummond established Royal Far West, in Cobar, which is located within my Electorate, in the 1920’s.”
“Since that time the organisation has grown in the services that it offers, and now supports the whole of rural and regional New South Wales.”
Mr Coulton said that while there were great services available within communities locally, in some cases it is essential for children to be able to access specialist services.
“Royal Far West is a very effective operation with a number of programs to effectively improve the lives of country kids including multidiscipline screening, telecare services, dental and vision services and programs to address developmental, behavioural, learning, emotional and mental health disorders.”
“I wish to congratulate Royal Far West on its 90th Anniversary and on its great work,” Mr Coulton said.
Royal Far West will be holding an open day on 6 December from 10am-4pm with fun activities for families.
