A new $40 million Federal Government grants scheme will boost infrastructure for aged care providers and improve the quality of life for seniors in the Parkes electorate.
Member for Parkes Mark Coulton said aged care providers can apply now for one-off grants of up to $500,000 to undertake infrastructure extensions.
“The new Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants scheme is an excellent opportunity for local operators in my electorate to secure funding for much-needed projects,” Mr Coulton said.
“Whether it’s improving accessibility, extending a kitchen or carrying out important upgrades, I am urging aged care providers in my electorate to consider applying.
“I believe older Australians deserve our respect and they should receive the very best care available.
“It’s extremely important that seniors in country areas have access to vital aged care services that help maximise their quality of life.”
Mr Coulton said funding will be provided via an open and competitive application process.
“Existing Government-approved residential and home care providers can apply. Approved Commonwealth Home Support Programme providers such as Meals On Wheels may also be eligible, where there is an exceptional need.”
Applications for the Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants will close on 24 October 2018.
