Last chance to raise youth allowance concerns

04-May-2011

Federal Member for Parkes, Mark Coulton is urging all local students and parents who may be impacted by the changes to the Youth Allowance scheme to attend the Roundtable being held in Dubbo this Thursday.

The roundtable discussion is part of the Government’s Review of Student Income Reforms Support and is part of several meetings taking place around Australia.

“We have managed to get this review taking place 12 months earlier than the Government wanted and this is the last opportunity to raise your concerns over the unfair criteria changes to independent youth allowance.”

The roundtable will take place from 10.30am at the Quality Inn Dubbo, Whylandra Street.

Attendees are required to register their attendance by emailing rsisr@deewr.gov.au.

“Students in Dubbo and Mudgee are being disadvantaged due to these changes and I strongly encourage any person who may be affected to attend the roundtable.”
