Coulton recognises Rural and Remote Doctors
23-March-2011
Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton attended the Breakfast with Australia’s Rural and Remote Doctors, hosted by the Rural Doctors Association of Australia in Parliament House this morning.
The event was an opportunity for Members and Senators to discuss the key issues facing rural doctors and their patients with 20 rural doctors from across Australia.
“This event was a great success and I commend the Rural Doctors Association of Australia for once again providing an informative and interactive briefing,” Mr Coulton stated.
“Doctors who work in rural and remote areas are invaluable and provide important services for small, isolated communities. The association plays a vital role in providing a voice for many rural doctors, recognising the challenges these doctors face.”
Rural doctors from the Parkes Electorate were present at the meeting including Dr Tilak Dissanayake of Coolah NSW and Dr Di Coote of Warialda.
