Coulton welcomes move to larger facility

26-October-2010

Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton has welcomed the change of venue for the proposed Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
Mr Coulton believes moving the information session from the Dubbo RSL club, which can hold 400 people, to the Macquarie Auditorium which holds 800, is a smart decision.
“Judging by the feeling of unrest and outrage we have seen across rural NSW, I think it was a necessity to move the information session to a larger venue,” he said.
“We have seen capacity crowds at the other information sessions, and I am expecting next Thursday’s meeting in Dubbo to be no different.
“It is the correct move as more community members will now have the opportunity to attend this and voice their concerns.”
The community information session will now be held at the Macquarie Auditorium, 155 Darling Street on November 4, from 3pm-6pm, with Mr Coulton encouraging everyone who can attend the meeting to do so.
